Tracy, I was really careful, but they're a hair under 12.5"--just so you know when you're seaming. No matter how hard I try, my blocks always end up a little small! Suggestions, anyone?
Jessica, can you move your needle position on your machine? I find when I need a hairs width, just one notch to the right can make the difference on the seam allowance. Other wise measure and tape with masking tape or even lay a yellow postit note as a guide can help. Hope this is useful :)
I agree with Trudi. Also if you go just one thread shy of 1/4 inch seam might do the trick too but mark the 1/4 inch on your machine bed. They have some nice seam guides out that help too. I have one and it doesn't leave the sticky stuff on your machine.
